NON-METALLIC ABRASIVES
Garnet is a naturally occurring silicate mineral deposit, reddish/pink in color and it is mainly used as an abrasive in abrasive blasting & water jet cutting and also as an absorbent in water filtration. Garnet is one of the most effective, safe, and versatile abrasive media for abrasive blasting and has a hardness on the Mohs scale of 6.5 to 7.5.
As an abrasive media, Garnet is highly efficient due to its low dust emission, and where conditions allow, it can be recycled upto 5 times and used as an economical alternative to Aluminium Oxide, Steel Shot & Grit, or any other expendable abrasives.

Steel Grit is an angular blast media ideal for aggressive cleaning applications. Steel Grit is designed for quick and effective removal of many types of surface contaminants from steel and other foundry metals. It is softer than other blast media and is less likely to fracture. The angular nature of steel grit produces an etched surface on metal for superior adhesion of paint, epoxy, enamel, rubber, and other coatings.
Typical applications include reparation of metal surfaces prior to subsequent coating, surface profiling, profiling prior to rubber bonding and lining, removal of sand from castings, descaling of bars and strips, etc. Industry users include blasting/painting contractors, container manufacturers, shipbuilders, pipeline manufacturers, plant maintenance, and steel fabricators.

NON-METALLIC ABRASIVES
Aluminium Oxide is an angular, durable and long-lasting blasting abrasive which can be recycled many times, it is the most widely used abrasive grain in sandblasting finishing and surface because of its cost, longevity and hardness. Hardness than other commonly used blasting materials, aluminium oxide penetrates and cuts even the hardest metals and sintered carbide.
Approximately 50% lighter than metallic media, aluminium oxide abrasive has twice as many particles per pound. The fast-cutting minimizes damage to thin materials by eliminating surface stress caused by heavier, slower cutting media.
Brown Fused Aluminium Oxide have a low friability, so it will break down slowly and coarser sizes can be recycled and reclaimed.
White Fused Aluminium Oxide have a high friability but has the same hardness rating (in general) as Brown Aluminium Oxide. It will thus shatter on impact and break down quickly, without doing as much damage/impact to the substrate.

OMGRIT Copper Slag is produced from metallurgical slags and provides fast blast-cleaning rates. The hardness and high density of copper slag give it a high resistance to fracture with very low dust formation during blasting, as well as faster blast cleaning speed when compared to other slag abrasives.
Typically, the majority of its comparison is iron oxide and silicon dioxide, formed when molten slag is quenched in cold water. This cooling process fractures the slag into coarse and angular particles, making it an ideal abrasive blasting slag with optimal blasting properties.
OMGRIT Copper Slag is approved by the major shipyards, oil & gas companies, paint manufacturers, coating contractors, tank builders, pressure vessel fabricators, offshore yards and construction chemical manufacturers. This abrasive is used to remove the contaminants, paints, rust, etc., and also to clean the steel tanks.

NON-METALLIC ABRASIVES
Coal Slag is a boiler slag, which is a recycled product from coal-burning plants. When coal is fired at over 2500 degrees, it melts and produces a by-product called slag. When is slag is cooled through a process called vitrification, it crystallizes, forming sharp, angular granules in a variety of sizes.
This slag is then reclaimed and undergoes several screening processes to remove dust and unburnt coal. The remaining crystals are then graded based on their sizes.

METALLIC ABRASIVES
The key features of our Steel Shots are high durability, resistance to impact fatigue, and maximum cleaning efficiency. When manufactured, these steel shots have a rigidity of 40 – 51 HRC (390 – 530 HV). These have a low breakdown rate and hence no dust is formed in the process. As these distribute high-impact energy, these are taken into use in the industries needing heavy cleaning, making bright finishes.

Glass Beads are manufactured from lead-free, soda lime-type glass, containing no free silica that is made into preformed round, ball shapes. They produce a much smoother and brighter finish than angular abrasives. Glass beads blasting produces a clean, bright, peened, satin finish, without dimensional change of the parts. Chemically inert and environmentally friendly, glass beads are an acceptable method of metal cleaning or surface finishing when properly controlled.
