Blastline offers a variety of Blast Room designs and room configurations which allow us to design a blast room facility uniquely tailored to meet the economic production, safety, and environmental concerns of each customer. This brochure will provide an overview of the blast rooms, abrasive recovery, recycling, and ventilation solutions offered by Blastline.

Blast room system is used in a wide range of industries that require surface preparation prior to the application of a protective coating. The surface of the workpiece is cleaned by a mixture of abrasive and high-pressure compressed air being directed at the workpiece by a blast nozzle. The blast room also provides lighting & ventilation for the operator’s safety.

Compared to open-air blasting, the controlled environment of a blast room has many advantages that justify the investment. Confining abrasive blast operations to a controlled, clean environment enables efficient abrasive recycling which has huge cost savings over using single-use abrasive.

Our design engineers can come up with a bespoke solution so that the resulting manual blast room caters to your every production needs, working with you throughout the design process, including helping you to choose what accessories you want to fit the system with. We provide a suitable, customized service, helping you sort through all the options to capitalize on any existing facilities and decide on specifications in terms of the professional sandblasting system’s dimensions and features

AFTER COOLERS

Atmospheric air entering a compressor contains water vapor. The compression process concentrates these water vapors. Once the air travels downstream, the vapor cools and condenses into liquid. If not removed, it contaminates the entire compressed air system and causes corrosion. This corrosion in turn leads to air leaks, pressure drop and scale formation. Products and processes are ruined, resulting in lost production time.

Air-Cooled After Coolers provide economical cooling by utilizing ambient air to cool the hot compressed air from an air compressor. Discharge air from an air compressor is generally 180°F – 350°F, depending on the type of compressor. With a properly sized after cooler, as much as 60% of the water in compressed air can be removed.

AIR PURIFIER

The air purifier provides the ideal solution for humidity problems encountered during blasting. It protects the pneumatic tools from oxidation, formation of ice, and breakdowns.

Compressed air contains water – causing oxidation, formation of ice, and clogs that cause breakdowns, losses in yield, and premature wear. This inconvenience could be eliminated with the type Z Purifier (sandblasting). The Purifier can be connected to the air hose linking the air compressor to the pneumatic tool. For optimal output, it is recommended to install the device as close as possible to the tool and as far away as possible from the compressor.

AIR RECEIVER CUM HIGH VOLUME MOISTURE SEPARATOR

Air receiver tanks not only serve as temporary storage but also allow your system to perform more efficiently. Rated to handle up to 800 / 1600 / 3000 CFM with less than 1% pressure drop through the separator.

Because of the immense pressure they contain and their importance to the system, they must be built to be exceptionally durable and strong.

Precision-engineered stainless steel coalescing element traps moisture as the compressed air expands inside ASME coded pressure vessel. Moisture separators help reduce the amount of moisture in the blasting system, resulting in a smoother, more even flow of abrasive and reduced contamination of controls.

There are many types of applications requiring air receiver tanks, including improving speed or torque, storage to protect from pressure fluctuations, storage to meter a high flow-rate application into a system, and more.

VENTURI BLOWER

The Venturi-style pneumatic air blower has a galvanized steel housing and cast aluminum base and uses compressed air or steam to ventilate vapors and fumes from underground storage tanks or other below-ground locations.

It has no moving parts and hence low maintenance. The housing is made from galvanized steel for corrosion resistance and can be replaced when it shows signs of wear. The base is made from lightweight cast aluminum and comes in standard base sizes. The blower comes with a static grounding lug to dissipate static electricity and prevent accidental ignition of vapors or fumes. It has a built-in steel handle for carrying. The air blower can operate at pressures up to 140 psi.

Venturi-style blowers, also known as Air Horns or Eductors, use the principles of the Venturi effect to vent hazardous vapors and fumes from below-ground sources. The base of the blower is connected to the underground tank or source where the fumes and vapors are present, and compressed air or steam is brought into the blower through a nozzle. Its narrow base constricts the compressed air or steam, which increases its velocity as it moves toward the vent at the top of the horn. This decreases the ambient pressure in the horn and creates a partial vacuum, drawing fumes up through the base and out through the vent.
